   Abstract

We present a new and shorter proof of the characterization of weak compactness in the dual of a C*-algebra obtained by Pfitzner [H. Pfitzner, Weak compactness in the dual of a C*-algebra is determined commutatively, Math. Ann. 298(2) (1994), 349–371].
